I am a Designer, Product Manager, Private Label expert relocated back to the west coast from New York City to be near my family.
I had no idea I would be a part of the apparel business one day when I started college as a pre-med student. After taking some much needed time off from math and science and working for Walt Disney Co in Orlando, I made the decision to start back at Auburn University as a Fashion Merchandising student. Eleven quarters later, no breaks, I commenced on my apparel career as an intern for a domestic ladies sportswear company, Orbit Industries.
Many years later, and after learning both design and production aspects of the business, I can say I still love being a part of the industry as a manager of a team, empowering the staff to be creative and make keen decisions, sharing my knowledge with young colleagues, and continuing to learn new processes.
This all leads me to a successful background in ladies and men's product development and sourcing beginning with forecasting, sketching, initial costing and negotiating, onward through final production for both in-house lines and private label accounts in both knit and woven categories.
